Living Smart: going green online

The Living Smart Program brings together the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay communities in an interactive sustainable living portal. The program consists of eight modules residents can work through by reading and completing online polls and quizzes. A module is completed when they have achieved all of the sustainable actions within that module.

This Council initiative originated in 2002 but this year, with the help of OMC, has undergone a major revamp. The new program consists of four new modules and a significant improvement to the calculators and quizzes on the site, not to mention the fresh, exciting design. The site seamlessly blends all sections of the program:

• A database of solutions businesses within the relevant sustainability sectors
• Upcoming events and workshops
• Latest sustainability news
• Online information and registration for the annual “Glossies” awards for sustainability.

The Living Smart team is now looking to roll out the program to other council's around Australia.
